Zutari is looking for a Mechanical Engineer specializing in hydropower and bulk water infrastructure design and project management. The successful candidate will work closely with senior and junior engineers, technologists, and technicians to develop and deliver high-quality solutions for clients in hydropower and water infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical infrastructure, including equipment selection
• Conduct hydraulic design of closed conduits and penstocks
• Develop designs for hydropower schemes (run-of-the-river, pumped storage) and prepare energy yield models and cost estimates
• Support business growth in Dams & Hydropower through client relationships and proposal preparation
• Manage small projects and lead tasks on medium-sized projects
• Mentor graduate engineers
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for infrastructure
• Collaborate with renewable energy, electrical, and other teams
• Conduct site visits for surveying and observation of projects
• Review quality of deliverables and compile professional reports

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering
• Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA or evidence of application for Professional Engineer status
• Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferably in water infrastructure
• Postgraduate qualification in engineering (advantageous)
• Experience in digital modeling, dams, hydropower, or bulk water (advantageous)
• Interest in innovative, complex projects and willingness to learn
